Steep Canyon Rangers Branding

As Steve Martin’s backing band, the Steep Canyon Rangers leaped suddenly into the national eye. Realizing they needed to take a huge step forward with branding, they came to us to create a branded POV, a system of logos for merchandise, and a CD/Album Design. As with most upcoming bands, they had no visual identity established, so we started from the very beginning to find what resonated with them along with what we believed would resonate with their growing fanbase. The following images show CD design, logo explorations, and the original concept boards used to hone in on a starting place.
